Happy Birthday HJP! We are 20 years old this year.
HJP was born as Harris & Company, with the simple intention to help start ups. Our start ups grew up, some are still clients, whilst others have happily and profitably sold. Today we help businesses in all stages of their life. In 2010 to celebrate 20 years we changed our name to Harris J Peden, HJP.

Like her fellow Director Angela, Catharine is a technical guru who successfully combines experience, expert knowledge and business common sense. Recent projects include

Angela is loved by her client base for both her straight talking and empathy. She will challenge you in the way that motivates you best so you achieve your goals. Angela’s degree in engineering enhances her business interests. She is happy to understand the detail of how a piece of innovative equipment or a system works, then devise the ideal tax plan or accounting plan to get the best value from it. Recent projects include
- designing and implementing a highly complex but simple-to-operate accounting system for a firm of currency traders
- the negotiation and successful sale of a company in the commercial service industry
- saving significant amounts of future tax through simplification of company structures
- tax mitigation planning to maximise personal income

Gill has considerable commercial experience from her years at companies like Reuters and Bicester Village. So once she has drafted either management accounts or statutory accounts, she enjoys looking for areas to improve profits.

Steph joined us in June 2008, after many years of working with us during school holidays. She is currently balancing her time at HJP with study for her Accountancy degree at Oxford Brookes University.

Sarah B looks after our marketing, HR and administration. This is the second time around for Sarah who first joined us aged 18 before going to University. After a career overseas in both marketing and recruitment she’s returned to the fold.
Gina Shelton BSc – Accountant

Gina joined us in November 2010, having gained 4 years experience in auditing and accounts preparation at top ten firms, Grant Thornton and PKF. She has a passion for working with SME’s, and having done an Accounting & Financial Management degree at Loughborough University, she is currently in the final stage of her studies towards the ICAEW ACA qualification.
Marie Collard – Admin & Accounts Assistant

Marie has joined the team as Admin & Accounts Assistant, this is Marie’s first role after gaining excellent grades in her A-Levels. She is currently studying towards her AAT Accounting Qualification.
